A story that wants to be told

Open A Blank White Notebook, Pen And Coffee On The Desk

“If a story is in you it has to come out” ~ William Faulkner

There are thousands of stories that are shared by thousands of people in the world. A story of how they learned to walk, a story of how they became a dancer or a story of how they survived high school. Nevertheless, all stories aren’t the same and everyone has their own unique story. Something that defines us and tells us apart. Something that makes us realize that we are not just what we think they are, that we are a part of something much bigger. My point: Every story is different and deserves to be told. I have a story, and my story wants to be told.

A voice inside me never let me open a blog. Who is going to read your blog?Β  It kept telling me. What do you have inside of you that people would like to listen to? Initially, this voice held me back, but it eventually led me to this: to opening my first blog.

After years of hesitation, fear and confusion, I finally got the nerve to create this blog. My fingers are still trembling as I’m typing my first blog post and that voice is still chastising me for doing so, but somewhere deep down, I can feel my kindled heart, urging me to go on.

So wish me luck, for I begin to fill in the pages of this memoir!

  1. Wonderfully put, this is how most of us have felt when we started out as reluctant bloggers. I love trading stories with people…it’s the easiest way to enrich yourself. Do keep sharing yours with us. Good luck!

  2. Congrats on starting your blog! Starting new things are always challenging and that voice is always prominent. I’m glad you decided to start your blog despite any doubts you may have had. By over coming your own negative voices, it’ll be much easier to step over any negativity that may come your way from voices you cannot control.
    Keep writing.

  3. Hey there! I would love to read more from you. I saw in one of your replies, you said that your writing is plain.. same case is mine. But, I think simple is beautiful and also simple is what gets into more minds than the convoluted ones. πŸ™‚

  4. You are a wonderful writer, we as human beings are so alike in so many ways. It’s amazing how most of us tap in to that “voice.” It is the voice of all that’s negative trying to keep us back and hold us down, however, if we are “still” enough, there is another “voice” filled with encouragement, strength, confidence…all that is good and positive, and I hope you will eventually tap into Him.

  5. Great first blog! I like how honest you were about your worries, and also loved the first part about everybody having a story – nice writing style! Looking forward to seeing your story πŸ™‚
