“If a story is in you it has to come out” ~ William Faulkner
There are thousands of stories that are shared by thousands of people in the world. A story of how they learned to walk, a story of how they became a dancer or a story of how they survived high school. Nevertheless, all stories aren’t the same and everyone has their own unique story. Something that defines us and tells us apart. Something that makes us realize that we are not just what we think they are, that we are a part of something much bigger. My point: Every story is different and deserves to be told. I have a story, and my story wants to be told.
A voice inside me never let me open a blog. Who is going to read your blog? It kept telling me. What do you have inside of you that people would like to listen to? Initially, this voice held me back, but it eventually led me to this: to opening my first blog.
After years of hesitation, fear and confusion, I finally got the nerve to create this blog. My fingers are still trembling as I’m typing my first blog post and that voice is still chastising me for doing so, but somewhere deep down, I can feel my kindled heart, urging me to go on.
So wish me luck, for I begin to fill in the pages of this memoir!
