Hey everyone! For today’s post, I’m going to be doing The High School Book Tag that Jasmine @howusefulitis and I created! Working with her was so much fun and I enjoyed collaborating with her for the second time! We buddy read A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab and we plan on doing so for the next two books as well! Ok, so without further adieu, let’s get into the tag!
- Thank the creators: Namitha @ TeenMemoir and Jasmine @ HowUsefulItIs
- Answer the questions.
- Add pictures! (If you want to)
- Tag (about) 5 people.
A+ on the test: A book or character that makes you smile?
For this question, I had to choose To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han! I remember smiling throughout the whole book as Lara Jean tried to fix the mess she put herself into. I know that the third book is out and I can’t wait to read it!
Sports team: A fictional family that you want to be a part of?
My choice may seem a little weird to those of you who have read this book. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton is a magical realism and follows the life and backstory of a girl who is born with wings. It starts from her great grandmother and explores the weird and quirky family dynamics, characters and relationships. I’d love to be a part of their bloodline and have strange but beautiful and sometimes sorrowful experiences.
Class President: A book that tries to make a difference?
I had to choose A List of Cages by Robin Roe. Although the novel is based on a core issue, it also explores other issues and talks about how important they can be when we don’t expect them to be. It brings awareness to these problems in a new light. I’m not mentioning these ‘issues’ because I do not want to spoil you guys. The best way to read this book is to not expect anything. Although the book can be brutal and heavy to read at times, I think everyone should and it’s a book I highly recommend.
High School Sweetheart: A book character you have a crush on?
GAAHHH! This was literally the hardest question to answer! For this question, after a lot of thinking, I decided to go with Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Levi is perfect in every possible way. He makes random strangers feel special. He never lets Cath settle for anything less and pushes her to reach her maximum potential. He is so supportive and is always by Cath’s side. Other Honourable Mentions: Prince Maxon from the Selection series, Etienne St Clair from Anna and The French Kiss, Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars, Julian from Caraval, Jase Garret from My Life Next Door and the list just goes on…..
Prom Night: A book with a beautiful cover?
There are so many books with beautiful covers out there, but for this question, I chose Heartless by Marissa Meyer. As you can see, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. I’m currently reading this book and so far it’s amazing!
Spring Break: A book you can always turn to when you need an escape?
I’m not really the sort of person who rereads novels. Although there are a few books that I want to reread, my growing TBR shelf doesn’t allow me to do so. However, I remember reading The Magic Faraway Tree 3 in 1 Collection over and over again when I was a child. It’s an amazing book and the imagination by none other than Enid Blyton is beautiful. It’s a book very near and dear to my heart and that I will cherish throughout my life.
School Lunch: A book character(s) you want to have lunch with?
For this, without a doubt, I went with the Anna and The French Kiss gang by Stephanie Perkins! The chemistry among the whole gang – Anna, St Clair, Josh, Rashmi, Meredith, Lola, Cricket, and Isla – is amazing! They’re all so fun to hangout with and having lunch with them would be epic!
Halloween Party: A book character you would like to be for one day?
For this question I chose America Singer from the Selection series by Kiera Kass because a) Prince Maxon, b) The gowns/palace and c) to not be as annoying and make better decisions!
School Bully: A villain you don’t want to go to school with?
I would most definitely not wish to go to school with Holand from A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere around his eerie, metallic and smoky atmosphere.
Graduation: A book with a bittersweet conclusion?
For this question, I had to go with Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I read this book in about 2 1/2 days and my experience can literally not be defined. I couldn’t get my hands off of this book and I sacrificed most of my sleep. I vividly dreamt about it for 3 nights straight. I couldn’t think of anything else but the book. When it ended I was devastated, but on the other hand, I was so happy and fortunate that I got to read this book.
Thanks for reading! It took us a lot of time, hard work and patience and so we hope you enjoyed this tag!
